Kazakh athlete will raise the flag of united Korea at the World Taekwondo Championship in Bulgaria.

The XXI World Taekwondo Championship will be held in Plovdiv, Bulgaria, from 24 to 30 August 2019. Representatives of more than 80 countries will take part in the event. The main contender for the title is the acting two-time world champion, Kazakh citizen Ilya Hvan.

This year Ilya set the purpose to raise the flag of Kazakhstan and United Korea, if he is allowed to the main stand on the single combat. The flag of the United Korea is traditionally raised only by representatives of the combined national team of North and South Korea at the Olympic Games and other major tournaments. As the athlete notes, it has a huge symbolic value for him, because being a citizen and patriot of Kazakhstan, he remembers and honors his Korean roots.

“It is a huge responsibility to represent your country at sports competitions. One should fight for gold only or not to take part in duels. I cannot speak for everyone, but that’s the only way for me. The environment in which I grew up, my school teachers, educators, trainers and just people whom I met, cultivated my love to the homeland, and responsibility for the country. I am very grateful to Solva, which financially supported me in achieving this great goal,” Ilya Hvan said.

“Sports excitement is expressed in any sphere of life, especially in business. As in the competition, if you set a goal, you want to challenge everyone including yourself, to prove that you can achieve all and every purpose. Sport shapes character perfectly. First, you become more confident in yourself, achieving good results. Secondly, you begin to understand that you can succeed everywhere, in any professional field. And success eliminates all and any obstacles on your path. At Solva we cultivate similar motivation, because success in business comes exactly the same way — through hard work”, — Marat Bekzhanov, Solva General director said, noting that the entire team of the company wishes victory to Ilya Hwan.
